  2. I like these souvenir editions. Like a mug with a queen or two on it. Alf Garnet styleee. he couldn't wait to get out and john "toxic" terry showed him the high road to the exit. No tears on either side, but what comes next? I think it's irrelevant really( except you can't have Avram Grant. I'll never understand how he got through the doors in East or west london-or even Portsmouth for that matter)
    Don't think they'll pick Alf.

  3. Six million nicker a year for the same old same old, had to stop some time, I reckon the small print finally got him. But as Filthy says Eddie Capelli seems to have had his bags packed and waiting by the door. Well the people want 'Arry, the question is how much dosh does 'Arry want. I shouldn't think Daniel Levy was none to pleased with the timing, nor the pressure of having to bid against the FA to fill 'Arry's pockets, which appear to be like Mary Poppins' bag - not easy to fill !

  4. Think I've come up with a new monicker for 'Arry - George Davis ! What do you reckon Filthy ?

  5. George is innocent! Do you think the railway bridges of London will be carrying "'Arry for England" tags? or "It was a bonus, not a bung".
The people's choice...maybe spurs will go for grant!?

  6. To the tune of "El Condor Pasa" - "I'd rather have a bonus than a bung". I reckon that White Hart Lane might as well make the most of what little of George Davis they have left. What's the Ian Dury lyric "the chances were slender, the beauty was brief" ? "Arry Red-Knapp" to the chorus of "Sweet Gene Vincent" perhaps !

  7. ooooh! you're waxing all lyrical Mr P! From Simon and Garfunkle (not the original of the tune) to Ian dury in 2 sentences. I reckon Arry was into Slade, maybe Status Quo.
Whatever, I think you're right, he'll have to take it.

  8. I reckon the young George Davis was a Tamla man, perhaps followed by The Stylistics ? A kind of a Room At The Top Sophisticate. But all that time spent down on the South Coast must have taken it's toll, Right Said Fred perhaps ?

  9. 'Right said Fred"!? they used to come into the shop in Fulham, fresh from the gym! But I can see "George Isinnocent" bare chested, waving his shirt in the air "I'm too sexy for my shirt...." But what colour's the shirt george?

  10. Maybe we could re-title the George Davis New Millenium Remix "I'm Too Sexy For My Team" ?
