  1. Ahoy from Blighty, did this one while "camped out" so to speak. Watched a stream live with #2 son and got excited when Lucky Lanzini put us up early in the match.

  2. Played like the undead for most of it from what I can gather. Lot of stick from the press and comments sections for the team selected . Obviously not a priority for Slaven Van Helsing who left his stake at home. That's done, hope it doesn't carry over into the real stuff. Hope the old country treats you well.

  3. Have a pie for me while you're there.

I'm not sure what they were at really. I can see resting the big boys to get battered at t'Gooners ( I'm still hopeful we'll sneak a point or even a win) but if the plan was to just give the kids a run out it nearly came unstuck. Most have nothing to be ashamed off.
( Miaga was and always will be a waste of money and space, pay him off and don't let the door...) If the intention was to put up a fight, why not send Malfi, Jarvis etc they're not likely to get a sniff at the Emirates.
I got a stream this time and I was disappointed.

I'm, with Filthy , I hope it's not catching. I still have hope though that even if we don't set the world alight this season at least we'll see some real football and go in swinging.

  4. Couldn't help but wonder why Bilic was even in attendance Filthy, but as mentioned before we did start to think it was winnable after our lucky first goal. But we never showed any menace, Nobby nearly got there once and Modibo Meagre looked like he had no intention of breaking his current form. I'd expected more from Lee and hoped for something "extra" from the kids, alas twas not to be.

  5. I don't think our European Fling had anything to do with the First Team or it's bench really Smitty, which for me is a shame - but I'll get over it. Bumped into a Hammers' supporter/wardrobe dealer under the Westway who described our prospects at The Emirates as "Tricky". Nicely phrased I thought !

  6. I'm not sure what it was tbh, but it was a waste.
Tricky is good, I think iffy is a bit more on the mark.
It won't make up for last night (quite) , but I really would like to do 'em at home.

  7. Not trying to be argumentative, nor a Euro sulker Smitty, but I think it was "wasted" not a waste. A little was learned (by the players) and the faithful did get to rise on a coach outside of England. As for The Gooners I would be happy to do them anywhere and often, but as we know it does require the stars to align. Talk about rain on Wenger's parade if it were to happen - I shall savor the thought at least until kick off !

  8. Fair distinction. I stand amended.
Me too, but this would be particularly a good time. New era, new talent an all that.

  9. It's opening day and I see we've not only moved above the drop without playing, but Spurs have lost too. Not a bad start to the season COME ON YOU IORONS !

  13. Fan pressure has halted the signing of Joey barton! well done! Didn't seem to work with BFS 'though!

  14. Another immediate and tangible improvement from the Days of Tupper Filthy ! It really would have rained on my parade to have Barton a Hammer - not only because I don't like him, but also he's 32 with little left in the tank.

  15. Did you see about Sakho getting nicked?
It's never plain sailing is it!

  16. Bailed out on a domestic violence charge Filthy ! Innnocent until proven guilty, which is not to say it shouldn't be taken seriously, but let's see if anything develops.
