  1. wow...does that still exist? Did you ever go there? Was John terry's Dad hanging around the toilets?
as good a place as any to celebrate. Didn't see the game...did the Hammers look like scoring goals?

  3. Wotcha Filthy, does it still exist ? I truly hope that they've come up with something better, but would be far from shocked to learn they haven't ! And yes guilty as charged, regarding attendance. As for John Terry's dad, I doubt he went anywhere else - as I remember the gents was to the left once you got out of the lifts and paid !

  4. Howdy Don't Hurt 'Em - Couldn't get any kind of stream or earball and so had to go with WHUFC text, which was, shall we say Green Street "authentic". At half time they had Forest up 1-0 despite Noble scoring a penalty. At 62 minutes The Hammers were still 1-0 down, until they suddenly, dare I say miraculously, went 2-0 up ! In the 85th minute Cole was taken to let Freddie Pickles stretch his legs, but then 4 minutes later "challenged" in front of the goal (yes Cole !). Still it is nice to know the club is in safe hands ! Top Of The Table - DEEP JOY !

  6. CBTG, what the heck is a "Noggie" and how do you pronounce it ? Please remember - it's a family show.

  7. Bona Fide top of the table now, Mr Noble the man on the spot again.
Looks like all round favorites to keep Mr Tupper's job and be back with the big boys. Celebrations at Smitty Towers!!
Thoughts on that? Can we do it without another big boot up front? Will it be a nail biter right to the brink?
Here at The Smitty's we think it'll be done but it won't be pretty.

  8. Your bang on Smitty "it'll be done but it won't be pretty" ! Lets enjoy life at the top, regardless of how we got there ! I don't think there's any argument that a new pair of boots up the front could help, but if it's going to be super silly money, we may have to push on with what we have. From what I can gather we have had bids rejected for the young lad at Huddersfield and the big Croatian at Glasgow Rangers. If we can't get/afford a new trigger man, how about someone that can give Carlton Cole some better service ? I know CC gets a lot of stick and he certainly has his "moments", but in fairness it can be hard to score when you haven't got the ball !

  9. Deffo good to be looking down, and Irons wouldn't be Irons without a little roller coaster action, and God Bless 'em a little nail bitin's good for the cardiac system. Either way, big boot up front or more service from the middle when we're back in the big time if we don't get something we won't need any more nails next season.

  10. In Alf Tupper We Trust - being as you've volunteered to be our Latin Expert (Mr "Bona Fide" Smitty), I look forward to a kosher Latin translation of that (IATWT) !

  11. A la Google

    credimus in Alf Tupper

    Not as much fun as:-

    In magnis aquilonibus git speramus

    and before you say it

Dans le nord de mouthy git nous faisons confiance

  13. Suitably chastised!!

  14. Didn't Sam Kydd drive one of those in Orlando ?

  15. Dear andy ,

A 'Noggie" (NOOGY--like boogy!) is just like the photo. You capture the victim's cute head in the crux of your arm and then DRILL down into their hair in an affectionate--but slightly painful way!!

    That's it!!

  16. No,you're thinking of the Mickeymousibus.
The aquilonibus is the only bus in Manchester that crosses the Manchester Ship Canal.

  17. Smitty, what I know about Salford Quays wouldn't cover the back of one of Nobby Stiles false fronts, but how wide can it be ? Surely not as wide as either George Cole, Walker from Dad's Army, or Arthur English ?

  18. Front line report for Filthy - Room At The Top Ilford 2012. What DM's I've managed to put on the ground, have come up with the bones of the mighty Harrison- Gibsons building still there, but no signs of life at the top. An opportunity for the recently released Mr Brand perhaps ? Hard to believe he wouldn't have dipped Katy P's purse !

  19. My whispers say that he's (Brand) about to dish the dirt on his and his ex's steamy sex life in an upcoming memoir. Should leave him enough for a few mirror balls and some flock wallpaper....

  20. Maybe he's been discussing with Messrs. Sullivan & Gold the possibility of acquiring a few promotional items ?

  21. You'll have to read the book... but I reckon some claret and blue "lingerie" might get a mention, along with the adorable ms.P (Perry- not Pepper!) sporting a couple of rosettes and a rattle! Now, of course, "the Gollivan" could run the VIP "room at the top" With black and gold (and Onyx) minibuses ferrying the faithful from the Olympic stadium to the beacon of taste and sensuality that is the Harrison-Gibson (i didn't know that) building.
Fantasy....that's the business to be in!

  22. You're on to something Filthy, but why not refurbished smoked glass Double Deckers, with something "special" upstairs ?

  23. But who's going to drive if Reg is the bouncer ?

  24. Good point- 'though doubt he'd keep his eyes on the road

  25. Last Time I checked It was a dead straight run to The Rooms once you're round Stratford Broadway - Forest Gate, Manor Park and boom boom you're there ! Reg could handle it.
