Brilliant idea, Sid. Let's give up this even stevens lark, doesn't seem to be working. All round stellar performance from the lads!! Back where we should be. Ammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmers!! That said, we have to stop this 10 men nonsense. Keep our heads and we're home free. We've got the team, we've got the heart, we've got the faithful. If we keep trying to toss it away, we might succeed.
When Robert Green was sent off and there was no goalie on the bench, I must confess I thought we might salvage a point at best. So hats off to "Ludo" Lansbury for literally putting himself on the line and to the other nine for not only keeping him protected, but scoring two more goals. To quote an old pal of mine from Bow: "There's the easy way, the hard way and the West Ham way" - we do seem to like a challenge.
Wotcha Filthy, I reckon you're getting a bit carried away to imagine a Hammers' side that wouldn't need a keeper. Come to think of it the same might be said about keeping the goals going in !
What the world loves is goals, goals and more goals. Sod the keeper...attack, attack, attack!! "what's that Mr Tupper?"..."oh, alright then..1-0's all we need, right, Robert in goal, flat back 4, 2 holding mids, wide mids covering back...let's put in a sweeper....leaving...ah yes, one striker....." I expect mr T is right and my method might win a battle or two, but lose the war.
It's glamour we crave Filthy and let's face it there's none to be had in the Second Division. I can imagine Alf Tupper gazing up at his Malcolm X poster - "By Any Means Necessary" !

ReplyDeleteexcellent result, specially as blackpool have been coming into the mix. Gotta keep the goals going in, then you don't need a 'keeper!

ReplyDeleteTalk about "Keepers"! lets KEEP Henri Lansbry!! What unexpected skill! Don't get me wrong, I love Green but anytime he wants to get sent off again...
ReplyDeleteYou've got a strategy there Girl - keep "Ludo" Lansbury on the pitch or on the bench and skip the back up Goalie !
