One thing about most of this years games they're a lot better to watch than last years. Anything could happen in the next 1/2 hour an all that. Sam there or Sam not there seems to be the same story, as well illustrated above. I've seen talk of did we fall back or were we pushed. Truth be told I'm undecided, but I lean towards the park the bus theory of old. I'm not a fan and would like to see him gone but Carrol's goal was class in anyone's highlight reel. The question is, where are the other attempts of this quality been? Once a season is all well and good, but for that money?
Can we do the Toffees this afternoon? Gonna be tight so wouldn't like to call it but if we show up we can do it.
Smitty, let me echo your thoughts on AC's goal, it was absolutely top shelf. It was also about the only shot on target we had up until that time. When they got one back, it hardly came "against the run of play", but it was only after they scored that we had another go at them. The last part of the game showed we were capable of taking them on, why didn't we have a go earlier ?
Stunning goal by Carrol, but I would say my men of the match were Cresswell and Jenkinson (who made it into the team of the week) according to BBC. I was not so sure with the subbing of Valencia instead of Nolan. AC, Noble, Nolan, and Downing are all very slow so the chance of breaking is really slim. Hopefully Song is back and if he is I think we should be able to beat Everton
Happy New Year Don'T Hurt 'Em, I completely agree with you on AC's goal and the two wing backs. You're also right that once Valencia came off, we had to shift down a gear and why Nobby didn't go off instead known only to a few. The Scousers subbed Gerrard off at half time, something to be learned there. As for today, I agree again Song should make the difference - Cup Run Here We Come !
I agree re NMc. BFS is the man, so he says. I like Cresswell, gonna be a monster soon. Jenks too, we deffo should flog someone somewhere to keep him, ( Song too) Shame your toofer doesn't seem to be working, Mr P.
Nice one Mr P, and quick on the draw. "Pocket money" was the movie (I had to look it up) and a fine pair the two of them make, just like Sakho and Valencia, Cresswell and Jenkinson, Sullivan and Gold, Raquel and Welch. (sorry- bit old fashioned that!)
Looks like Ravel's off the hook. CCTV showed his ex just fell over rather than being hit. His future still looks unwritten. Off to Italy? That could work, but for how long?
I'm very happy to hear that Filthy and that Lazio are showing interest. Out of Blighty seems the way to go and the Italians certainly do like a "character" when it comes to football - they've sent a few over to The Premiership on the Nutter Exchange Programme !

ReplyDeleteI have absolutely no idea. NMC / BFS said so? Nobby couldn't keep up?
All a mystery to me.

ReplyDeleteIn fairness to NMc Smitty, I do think he is under the cosh and will pursue a "I was only following orders" defence post Tupper.

Got a crackin' new goal on my AC reel though ! "Step Right Up" !
