  2. I had a notion it was going to be a special day for Carlton and I hope the shift he put in has earned him the respect he now deserves. Having said that Blackpool were no soft touch and had their trigger men been a bit sharper, we might have been playing Doncaster again next season ! Still no point in winding yourself up about what never happened. If any of those who follow Saitch "from the shadows" want more details on the match, go to the "West Ham Till I Die" site and read Chandos' match report - a fair account of what actually went down and how we went up. Deep Joy !

  4. Okay...Sorry I've been away from this beautiful beautiful site!! I've not been too busy, I've just been scared. But back, seeing the tremendous artwork I've missed...and being back UP! I am thankful and proud to post!! My TOMKA Stays!! Long Live the Brave (if sometimes lame!) Hammers. Let Claret and blue bubbles stretch across the sky!!!!

  5. Looks like they're getting rid of the deadwood. Need to bring in "the new Scotty Parker" whoever that might be!

  6. Welcome back CBTG, you been missed (see - flattery will get you everywhere). You're top man Tomka, should be safe at Upton Park and by the way he won nearly everything in the air at Wembley.

  7. You're on the money there Filthy ! Alf's started by unloading half a dozen, including "Le Poumon Noir" (Julien Faubert) who was signed during the Eggy Fiasco and was probably being paid well over the odds. I'm not certain that we're entitled to two Scotty Parkers in three seasons, but we definitely need a top shelf right back and the same on the left (I like Ringo, but he's unlikely to play a whole season without injury and yellow card suspensions). Another trigger man would be nice to go with Carlton and Vaz Te.

  8. So who's in the shopping trolley? louis Saha? not sure of his defensive qualities. What's the word?

  9. Well Filthy, l like everyone else on Green Street, we want more than we can afford ! First there's Robert Green's contract, hopefully he won't be too greedy. Alf's already on record as saying he's going to poke about amongst the newly relegated, so I reckon it's going to be more of a bargain basement selection than brand name purchases that will impress your friends. Who's gone down that's any good ?

  10. Well there's a few at Wolves, but seeing as WHU need a defender or 2, and Wolves shipped more goals than everyone else.....Michael Mancienne? ex chelsea?...i reckon Uncle Sam could turn him into a solid, lacking in adventure stopper. I still think Attack is the best form of defence. Wins you more friends, and at least you have a chance! Steve Sidwell? Very honest, hardworking, subScott Parker. Up front? Salomon Kalou? Probably too much of a long shot.
