Southampton v. West Ham

  1. One emotion, one eyebrow (that moves) but loads of women(according to a recent Uk rag), so I guess one emotion is all you need if it's the right one. Of course there's more to life than racking up sexual conquests, important things like......er...football! Ain't it great being a man! And the Hammers are being very manly these days. man Utd (up next) have been bleating about the Irons being long ball and basic! Well that's fighting talk and i reckon Alf will get the boys whipped up . A point at least!
I used to love the Saint " do doo-doo do doo..doo do"!

  3. Don't forget Simon Templar's nonchalant look upwards at his halo Filthy. With the initials ST, I guess Mike Skinner was lucky he wasn't called The Street ! I'm assuming that Roger The Conqueror was referring to the opposite sex, but either way, isn't it more about quality than quantity ? Or did the numbers man exist back then ? Are we talking about "the beautiful people" or "oh dears" caught in the headlights of fame ? In these days of Super High Definition TV " The Saint Glance" might make a cool scoring (OUCH !) celebration.

  4. Welcome to Saitch Cherry Ann, as mentioned on the Scouse thread, i never got a nibble of this one. I was hoping for a multi screen extravaganza at Terminal 3, Heathrow but not a drop of football to be had that I could find. By all accounts we were fortunate to come away with a point, but "any port of call in a storm" and we were in Southampton. Smitty's prediction that AC would go on a bit of a run, certainly now has legs and I fancy a big lad like him not to go home with empty pockets from the Red Army showdown tonight. Any chance to rain on Charlie Endell's Parade is alright by me !

  5. Bit of a dent in the away jinx must make the lads feel chuffed.
Nice timing too! Medium Rah!! on that one
For whatever reason AC seems to be more in the game, whether he scores or not, the very presence of a credible boot ( or nutter) up front I think goes a long way towards it.
I agree with Mr P, I don't think Alf's going anywhere. Too many other things going on to start buggering about with a new guy for one reason.Unless someone lets him write his own ticket which I seriously doubt.
Looking forward to the Man U kerfuffle, almost had their number before. Hopefully we can sit on the Dutchman this time.
    Iroooooooooooooooooooons!

  6. Wotcha Smitty, Alf is putting AC's new found form down to full fitness, whether thats the case or not, his confidence must be on the rise while defenders start to worry more. In the scheme of things I would fancy a scalp, but I've just read on BBC Sport Tomka and Crazy Horse are doubtful. If that happens then Poltergeist will probably start and I don't fancy his chances against Van Persie !

  7. I don't fancy Poltergeist's chances against my grannie, maybe we'll get lucky and he'll get himself sent off in the first minute. We'd be better off with 10. Useless bugger.

  9. I think the "saint glance" is more suited to the boudoir than the pitch, but would be far more classy than most celebrations. Meanwhile good news from the 16th minute at Upton park...

  10. Speaking of "more classy than most celebrations" Mo Diame has just presented himself as thus !

  11. Just dropping by to say that I love your work, not to comment specifically on this piece.

(You should come out and watch a match with the NYC Hammers! We watch all the matches at Smithfield on West 28th Street.)

    Cheers!

  12. Cheers Dead Flowers for both the kind words and the invitation. What's Smithfield's policy on having 15 year olds in the gaff ? I always watch with #2 Son and #1 Son too, when he's about (now 21 so no age issues there).

  13. Seeing as Smithfield is also a restaurant, no problem whatsoever for you to bring the family.

Hope to see you at a match soon!

(BTW, I think I met you years back at the Henry Street Ale House in Brooklyn, where I was tending bar.)

    COYI!

  14. If it was a bar Lee, it's odds on I was there. I know I missed a few, but I did give it a go ! Great news about Smithfield, we'll definitely drop by some time soon (Mrs Pepper's birthday this Saturday though).

Hope to see you at Smith's for a match sooner than later.
