Crystal Palace v. West Ham Utd

  1. Looked like a great game before that numpty got his deserved marching orders, nasty piece of work. I thought we'd got it in the bag but they put up more of a fight than I thought. All the boys did well but we haven't quite got the knack of overwhelming when we're one up. Still we broke em down and AC paid back a gazillionth of what we've paid him. Still not sure where he fits in though. We should have been pouring in crosses for him to do his bit but didn't seem to happen. We're just not that team anymore. Honorable mention to Ginge. I'm glad he didn't go. He may not have the finesse, nor the talent, and less speed than before but if anyone gives 110% it's him.
Anyway another 3 points away and we're still a work in progress, now I wanna see those Chelski scum go down 3-1 and I'll be a happy camper.

  2. It was the perfect scenario for the manbunned one. All he has to do is get his nut to the ball occasionally and set someone up. I don't like him, but he has his uses- daily being a completely different player to the others up top.
Before the game I thought this would be an away win too far, but it's great to be wrong. Chelsea next: They're fragile and slow at theback, reckon they'll park the bus and hope for a breakaway.

  3. Agreed on Ginge Smitty - he made a howler right in front of our goal, but luckily nothing came of it - after that he was rock solid. Top shelf squad man "Blocker" Collins. How about "Ying Yang" Jenkinson - it's not very one that scores a goal with one touch and gives away a penalty with the next - all in the space of 45 seconds. As fine an example of the "West Ham Way" as you're likely to see. Was beginning to think Palace weren't going to crack when Lanzini prized them open !

  4. There's no denying AC is a hand full when he comes on and I doubt if there's many opposition defenders that are happy to have to deal with him. He's a tool (no pun intended) to be used as Super Slav sees fit and I expect him to be knocking the Chel$ki defense about on Saturday. Shame we can't have Big Vic too - them Blues are bigger than they sometimes look.

  5. Ginge's howler just adds to the game, for every one of those there's half a dozen crunchin tackles or blocks - I'm a fan. Jenks ? I'm glad he scored gives him a bit of confidence and I'm not convinced that was a penalty but the "west ham way " it deffo was.
I'm still hoping Sam's got a plan to get AC back up north with Nobby - squid per nut just not worth it, and his feet haven't improved any. You may be right about him and Chel$ki but he's quite likely to sprain a fingernail and be on the " hoping he can get fit enough " dole again.
Nah Filthy I think we coulda took em 11 on 11 once the first 10 mins were over but we'll never know. I just think we had it on the breaks, and we had Linguini - I like him !!

  6. There's a good balance about the team and they're enjoying themselves. It is lovely to watch. Super Slav has got'em purring. I like his interviews, keeps his ego in check (unlike some). I saw BFS was blaming West Ham fans last week and blaming the ref for Sunderlands first loss (of many?) under his expert guidance!

  7. "with Nobby" Smitty, thought I just read Tupper said he wasn't in for Nolan, have I missed something ?
Super Information Highway been closed in my Hood all morning !

  8. I'm digging Bilic too Filthy, he's a Mod (as in modest) as opposed to Alf's angry Ted !

  9. Well not exactly with but last I read
    http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/kevin-nolan-to-sunderland-sam-allardyce-eyes-reunion-with-former-newcastle-and-west-ham-player-a6693391.html

maybe. But it really isn't much of a stretch is it. Maybe you have newer news.

Dunno about an angry Ted , but we've already discussed his alter ego Ted Bovis.

  10. Fortunately we can now pick and choose went to discuss Tupper Smitty and i won't be thinking much about him until I see the Tyne derby result (Allardyce v McLaren - doesn't give you much to root for). Can we take Chel$ki ? That is the question ? Will do my part and have my Chocolate Weetabix before kick off ! C'mon You Irons !
