Blackburn Rovers v. West Ham United (F.A.Cup 5th Round)

  1. We're gonna win it !!!- maybe.
We looked good, with the usual proviso that we don't wake up for 15 mins or they score whichever comes first. I don't see why we can't give the oppo a 1 goal start and they can draw lots for who goes on the scoresheet.
Entertaining game as usual, I thought they put up a good fight but once we woke up it was inevitible. I can see the refs point and agree it should have been a 2nd yellow but something went out of the game. Great to win but we would have anyway. Wile E's red was a joke, had to be overturned.
Anyway it was great to see the romp at the end even against diminished opposition. Manny got a boost I think he's gonna be GGGGood, cool under pressure for the 1 on 1. GGGreat is a monster at the back as well as front. Payet was Payet and a pleasure to watch. I don't understand some fans. So he turned his back and "caused" their goal. Balls, I'd rather give away a goal than him get a facefull or something. Also : he's great, not perfect- except on 90% of freebies.
Manuel was a champ again , gets a run out under no pressure,
he'll be in top form when we show BFS what the west Ham Way is on Sat.

  2. To quote Professor Stanley Unwin "Deep Joy" Smitty ! I think I'd forgotten the feeling of dishing out a tonking - 2 disallowed, 1 hit the bar and a red card now sent back. Nice to see Manny E in numbers, coulda shoulda been a hat trick - but what a lovely problem to have. #1 son said Big Vic gave a very funny post match interview, but haven't had time to dust off the deerstalker yet.

  3. Ahoy there Don't Hurt "Em I assume you've been enjoying the football as much as the rest of us ? I could watch that free kick all day long, not that there was anything wrong with the second one and he might have got a hat trick but he was trying to help Manny E get on. Five or so more minutes and that might have had a hat trick each !

  4. This has been a great season all around. The cup run is really getting exciting, I love waking up every Saturday expecting three points, and watching an entire squad play together at this elevated level is fantastic. However I believe the true highlight of this season is the Payet song to the tune of Achy Bracky Heart. I had no idea Billy Ray was so big in the E3.

  5. Certainly puts a shine on your shoes doesn't it C&B. As for Miley's Dad writing Upton Park's latest hit _ I have no idea how that came about - pilfered from another team or player ? I have no idea, but I certainly enjoyed singing it with the Atlanta Ironworks. I especially like the couplet:"He's Super Slaven's man And He's Better than Zidane". The Boleyn ("Bubbles" excepted) is literally singing again !

  6. Being it's an early game tomorrow I won't be able to have the box cranked (volume wise), but I'm expecting there to be some rousing choruses aimed in Allardyce's direction. Not sure if Slippery will be on here before he goes, but if you read this before Sunderland Mr Doo Dah give it some extra from me. I'm sure Smitty wishes he was going !

  7. I'm sure he'll get a mixed reception, the Boo Boys will certainly be out and those that stick with the "did a good job but his time had come" crowd will probably be in the silent minority. Personally I would like to see a minute of stony silence and everyone turn their backs. Followed by whatever the Super Slav song de jour is for several choruses. But we will have to see.
As I've seen they seem to be "throwing the kitchen sink" at staying up so we can expect to go down by at least one in the first ten followed by the Nigerian Nightmare fed by Payzini to clatter em good for at least a couple. Speaking of clattering if that 'mole geezer starts on Payzini as has been suggested I expect one of the several larger lads we have nowadays to make the point that it's probably not a good idea.

  8. Well whatever may happen Mitty and let's not forget that we are West Ham, we will not go down to a fine display of attacking football with Tupper there. " As we all know , sadly to well, "respect the point and nick the winner" is about as entertaining as he gets. But I'm just enjoying the fact he's managing the other team. Lets get them trophy handle ears (the nearest he'll eve get to a Cup) roasting !

  9. Let it rain down on him! Hopefully Payzini can unpick the lock and increase the pressure on him.

  10. "Payzini" Filthy ? Is that 2 birds with 1 stone, or are you cows breeding a hybrid ?

  13. Filthy just noticed the word "cow" in my last comment - bloody laptop started adding it's own words ! The yankee spelling is enough of an intrusion but adding words is well be low the belt. Cows and Payzini in the same sentence - not on - Birds of Prey perhaps ?
