West Ham v. Cheltenham (League Cup)

  1. When I saw the score I was a bit worried, we shouldn't be letting them have one. T'was a penalty so not so bad.

Nice idea to let the new guys have a bit of a play together, even if not in Premier conditions.

All in all a nice day but we shouldn't be worrying too much about the cups lets get a solid team, consistent in the league.

  2. Followed this one via BBC text Smitty, the Beeb reporter couldn't figure out what their penalty was for, so It couldn't have been anything too outrageous. I saw the goals later online and both Vaz Te's free kick Rude Boy Ravel's were top shelf stuff. Obviously winning against a Fourth Division team is nothing to brag about, but as we all know losing to anyone is never out of the question when it comes to West Ham !

  3. I'm sure there'll be an inquiry, on KUMB at least.
Just as long as they didn't run rings round the boys in back
so we looked as we have the potential to, on any given game.

Oh well, all Stoked for the w/end.

  4. The only downer of the Cheltenham match is that Diarra has seriously done his knee and is out for the season. I was thinking he would be on our for sale list along with Vaz Te and Matt Taylor, but obviously that aint gonna happen now, which is a shame as under the new Fair Play laws we have reached our limit on the wages front - so nobody out nobody in !

  5. Knowing the inconsistency of Vaz after scoring a such a cracker he wont get one for 5 or 6 games but it is great to see Revel scoring and hopefully we see a lot more of him in the next few games.

  6. Don't know if you saw Don't Hurt 'Em But in his Friday press pow wow Alf Tupper declared Vaz had put in a transfer request and Alf would be happy to see him go. Someone will take him I'm sure.

  7. What's that I hear?..sex and drugs and carlton Cole's signing up again, to fill the striker void. Reduced wages and a short term deal.

  8. I was looking for more gossip on the Carlton Cole thing, but seen nothing. I bet old Vaz is sitting in his Crystal Palace kit up in his Docklands penthouse wondering why no one has called him. Surely there must be some out of work strikers knocking about....Is it good policy to re-sign a 30 year old who scored twice in 27 games last year????

  9. All sorts of stuff circulating on the Carlton front, but it's all gone a bit quiet on the official front. Is it possible he didn't pass the medical ? If he did pass, what's the chances of him being match fit ? Pretty slim would be my guess.

  10. Pretty slim is not what I read. Pretty tubby is more like it. Daily Mail (fountain of all that is false and corrupt) says "the management" have decided not to re-sign weighty one.

  13. No fingers in The Berwick Street Pie whatsoever slippery, I'm planted firmly back on the streets of New York, where a combination of technical issues and the Jewish New Year Holiday have kept me from posting the Stoke Saitch. Hopefully it will go up some time Monday. As for Carlton, can't say I'm suprised, but you would expect him to be in some kind of shape as a footballer looking for a team.

  15. Just read that Carroll has injured his foot on his first day back of full training....probably getting out of his bloody Lamborghini or some other supercar. I remember a few years ago when he was at the Magpies that he injured his thigh falling off a bar stool, although everyone denied it.....I hope this doesn't turn into another Deano Ashton scenario.

  16. The AC story just gets better and better doesn't it.
I think he could be / is a great player and a great asset but
it looks like he's got a lot of glass appendages.
Oh well, prolly a lotta draws coming.

  17. I can't claim the Jewish faith for myself Slippery, although I have married into the Woody Allen branch. But the geezer that runs my local copy shop (formerly of Leigh On Sea) is "full on", the only other game in the Hood was banjoed and thus like Alf Tupper himself I had no other option but to sit, ponder and wait.

  18. Martin and Smitty, it appears that the Stoke Saitch is more on the money than I realised. I assume the debate will jump to there (cue "Devils Gallop"!
