Well there's no doubt we will score Smitty, but how many and how often - those are the questions. Very drab stuff Sunday and as you point out if it weren't for Jussi (and a very nifty back header from Crazy Horse Reid) we'd have lost - no doubt about it.
Welcome back to Saitch C.P. nothing wrong with being a "newbie" we all were once ! I assume by your comment "explain James Collins to me" you are referring to how the hell could he not hit the target from that distance - well he hit it like a centre half clearing a ball - he just belted it skywards. A real tragedy for us, as that could have been 3 points against the run of play. "Ginge" (hairs gone now) Collins is a fairly solid secondary level central defender, prone to making costly mistakes. He get his blocks in, works hard and is more of a blessing than a curse - but not by that much.
You know when you have one of them dreams ,where you are being chased by something that wants to do you some serious damage, and the faster you try to run the slower you seem to go,then a feeling of relief when as you are 'aving it on your toes' theres a great big gun on the floor in front of you,and as you pick it up and turn towards the something thats chasing you and fire the massive gun,the great big bullets leave barrell in slow motion ,the something looks at you as it dodges the bullet ,smiles and the last thing you see before you wake up suddenly is a great bit set of gnashers about to bite you in half....to me that sums up West Ham at the minute
To elaborate Slippery my dream usually involves me having to get behind the drum kit at some massive show, or play in defence for The Hammers. I once dived out of bed still "el kippo" trying to block a shot and hit the deck - wallop !
I'm not going to tell you my dreams, but thanks for sharing! For me the bigger problem is trying to stay awake with this style of play. I know it's brought on by injuries, but an occasional goal would be good. Jussi did his bit though.
As Clever Sir Trevor once pointed out Filthy, it's hard to win if you don't score ! Just read on KUMB that Alf reckons Petric may be fit for Cardiff, surely not more of the same at home to Everton ?
Odds are pretty long for us, on paper we'll get our ***es handed to us, but in out hearts we know that we'll go down swingin as we get our ***es handed to us.
Maybe they won't take us seriously and we can sneak one in early, then play 10 at the back, our best hope!!
COYI!!
One thing I love about the modern game- we get unlucky / shafted with AC, and go shopping. CC supposedly looking for a club is too fat to play, and the one we do buy won't be "match fit" till whenever. Love it, next job I get - You're hired ! Start monday? Nah, give it a bit and I'll be good to go, I'll let you know!!
You can tell Carlton's spent time at Upton Park Smitty, he's looking for work whether it's back with us or elsewhere, that he's not fit enough to do while his agent's yelling that we're not offering him enough ! !
Elliot Lee in the reserves is a blinding little striker...can't understand why he's not been promoted to the first team...if only for a few games..surely got to be worth a shout
I'm going to be the echo on Elliot Lee, Slippery & Smitty we've brought him up, now lets blood him. At the every least he'll get the crowd going for a while !
Just seen the team sheet, despite our petition Lee hasn't eevn made the bench, still I see Petric gets ot warm his tuchus, might even get a little run out ?
Jussi.
ReplyDeleteJust think of the fun & frolics there will be if we ever score.
Owt more to be said?
Newbie Hammer fan here: Please explain James Collins to me.
ReplyDeleteJussi Jaaskelainen, wow... no WOW!

ReplyDeleteOffering enough what? Cheeseburger allowance, but I know what you mean.
ReplyDeleteYou're right about Lee SDD, what have we got to lose?
Could be the Roy of the Rovers moment of 2013.
