  1. I see Punchinello has gone to manage Spuds, I guess Mr Levy didn't want to pay the extra and take Alf away !

  2. Shame. we could have had Mashed Spuds w/ Sam!!

Last 5 paragraphs. Says it all, you gotta laugh.

  4. "Don't Give Up Your Day Job" would be my advice to Tony Cottee !

  5. well now who's arfur got his beady eyes on? Steve Sidwell? Gareth Barry? ( the flame haired one might be more realistic). Gotta get Mr Morrison back. Is the Zarate deal done? any one got any info on him?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Keeping Ravel's top of my list Filthy. No ones announced that the Zarate deal has been done, so I take it hasn't, not yet anyway. As is always the case plenty of hype surrounding him now we're interested - I have no idea. If Chel$ki are going to unload Ba, I'd go for him - but he may not want to return, even if we could meet the wages. As for Gareth Barry too old and too much wages for my liking.

After keeping Ravel, I'd splash the cash on a left back, especially with Ringo gone !

    ReplyDelete
  7. Ba would be good...and I think could work well with AC. and, yes, I suppose it's wise to have some defenders at least. Ryan Bertrand, left back- ex Chelsea-his wages shouldn't be too ridiculous, but they probably are.

    ReplyDelete
  8. According to Jack Sullivan the Argentinian striker Mauro Zarate has signed. Young Jack should know, West Ham its his Dad's 51%.

    1. Done deal, apparently on a free,
      Teddy too supposedly

Now lets hope they get it right as to which one plays and which one sits on the bench

  9. I assume you Sherringham on the Park Smitty ! Still be better than Maiga I'm sure !

    ReplyDelete
  10. I always used to think when Zola was at the helm - "Just shut up and put yer boots back on !"

    ReplyDelete
  11. Teddy Sherringham back on Green Street as Attacking Coach it's official !

    ReplyDelete
  12. And if you read on KUMB to a very mixed reception.
Personally I don't think it can hurt at all.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I'm with you Smitty, can't hurt to be associated with a former World Class player and he's a recent enough star to command the respect of the players, both the ones we have and the one's we want !

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'm on the fence with Teddy "dentist chair" Sheringham. There was always something I didn't like about him. Decent enough player, no question......Still anyone who can offer something different at the right time will be welcome

    ReplyDelete
  15. I can't see any serious downside Filthy, if it doesn't bare fruit, we are where we are now. You don't have to train with him and he's unlikelt to be front and centre on the bench (home games only). Whoever has a go, either has to find a working relationship with Tupper, or stand up to him. At least Teddy already has the SP on Alf and needs something to do before the talent arrives at the wine bars - well wort a punt (OUCH !)

  17. Yeah, no downside, apart from any enthusiasm generated by the novelty of having a coach dedicated to attack, and then having that enthusiasm shoved back up our nostrils becauseBFS dictates. The only thing to lose is hope. But that is very familiar.

    ReplyDelete
  18. "The only thing to lose is hope. But that is very familiar." Hope covers a lot of ground, Filthy, especially for a lifelong Hammers' fan like myself. With June just kicking off, the World Cup closing in and next season far off on the horizon, I'm feeling like our ship may run into some tiny island of joy".

  19. Mea Culpa.
In my comment about Linda going I skipped over Jack Collison. Just read this

    http://www.whufc.com/articles/20140530/jc-says-fond-farewell_2236884_3863461

Class act from a young man who gave his all. I really hope he finds a home and does well. Shame we couldn't have found a space for him. He bleeds C&B, always gave 100% and I think he still may have had something to offer.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I was a big fan of him in his younger days but he was never the same player after the injuries Smitty. Nice bloke, but if it was going to happen with us it would have happened.

    ReplyDelete
  21. True about the injuries but with BFS I'm not sure he ever got a chance after them ( as could be said of others) so we'll never know.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I have my suspicions that despite the best of intentions post injury he's not a Premiership quality player Smitty, but here's hoping he proves me wrong. I'll be surprised if he doesn't get the opportunity to impress somewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Allarbuckle still in charge = No Ravel..Dont know why Gold & Sullivan bottled it about giving him the 'Tin-Tac'...

A.P....If you're near the manor (Custom House) when you come over later this month gis a shout as ive got them Hammers for you ..

    Slipperydoodah@gmail.com

Good luck.. A.P.....Mr.Smitty..Filthy Rich ...& Clueless...until next season

    ReplyDelete
  24. Will be in touch Slippery, have a good summer mate. I see we've just signed Jussi on for another year - a smart move in my book and one that should cheer Smitty up a bit. Meanwhile rumours a go go - but that's all they are right now rumours.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Ta Slippery - be well & good luck

Jussi , no brainer. Tried, tested and already here. Where else would we get as good?
Still not totally convinced about Adrian.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Any thoughts on this?
We'd be nuts !! So much for attacking tictacs.

    * Swansea are reported to be 'lining up' a £5million offer for West Ham's troubled youngster Ravel Morrison. The 21-year-old has just 12 months left on his current contract at the Boleyn Ground and is said by the Mail to have caught the eye of new Jacks manager Garry Monk (no relation to OLAS' Harry, as far as we're aware), who is keen to take the England Under 21 international to the principality.

  27. I will not be happy if that happens, but if the manager doesn't want him you can hardly blame a player who wants to move on. Nice footballing tradition at The Swans. My 2 cents would be to re-sign him and loan him out, but Ravel's advisors might ask "Why re-sign ?"

    ReplyDelete
  28. What's more concerning about it is the lad's got talent. If we are supposed to be becoming more attacking / entertaining - there ya go we already have it.
He may have issues but even at 21 it's hard to be an a hole all day every day. Run him out once in a while, be a nice surprise for everyone.
Spuds would fold as soon as he walked on the pitch.

    ReplyDelete
  29. No reports of any "issues" at QPR, 'Arry would have him if he could, but probably out of his price range as they have some FFP fines to pay. Swansea probably got the dosh , some of which is bound to go to Man U as we got him on the cheap (sell on clause).

    ReplyDelete
  30. So there you go - he probably called Sam fat so end of
    Shame.
    Sam out!

    ReplyDelete
  31. In view of the fact that the Brady Bunch never even spoke to anyone about taking the job and only mentioned two potential candidates amongst themselves, you don't stand a snowball's chance in hell before Xmas Smitty 1

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yeah I know , but I just felt like saying it.

    ReplyDelete
  33. and a good summer to you all as well. God i used to love and live for the first game of the new season. However bad the one before, optimism would be overflowing by mid August.
Too old and cynical now. getting morrison back would light the flame a little!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Well right now they're not losing, not even playing badly - so enjoy some currant bun wherever you can find it and the World Cup on the box.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Sometimes you just don't have a big enough shovel.

    ReplyDelete
  36. "Talking to four left backs" Smitty, if we're going to sign one better talk to Forty ! Will have a gander at West Ham Till I Die, although I've been gravitating (look no hands !) to the quicker read of Claret & Hugh.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Change Of name - Smitty can't see that - not even sure that it would be allowed, didn't HUll or Cardiff or somewhere just get a knockback on this Idea from appropriately titled FA ? Could see crossed dildoes on the badge if we were to get Ann Summers sponsorship though !

    ReplyDelete
  38. I just read the WH news feed, gets it from everywhere.

Prolly end up with a gereatric free/loan no matter how many we talk to.
I fancy the mystery man mesself.

Yeah, name change!? That'll go down like a lead balloon. WH London? Who thinks of these things.
Don't we have something to do besides try to make everyone buy more dodgy merchandise. Was Hull I think - HC Tigers or some nonsense.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I must admit I was thinking more in terms of name change to something like Sainsburys City or Tescos United !

    ReplyDelete
  40. They're both coming I'm sure
Looking forward to Lidl Wanderers personally

    ReplyDelete
  41. Name change??!! that's too much for my head. my comment could go on all summer, but I'll cut if off now and think about something else.

    ReplyDelete
  42. At least the worst possible name of all time - Tottenham Hostpur has been taken ! Don't fret Filthy there's already been an official denial !!!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. http://www.claretandhugh.info/noble-wins-by-a-landslide/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=noble-wins-by-a-landslide

    This, Yeah!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Not sure how much sway a claret&hugh poll will have with Tupper Smitty, but it comes as no surprise everyone else is on the same page. Having said that I would like to see Noble be a bit more assertive on the pitch over his team mates - it's surely coming his way, if not as swiftly as we'd like.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Absolutely none I would imagine. While Nolan is there even less.
I think he's not assertive because he's not the gaffer, doesn't want to undermine etc.
It's just nice to know we're all right & BFS is wrong - Again!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Seems like Matt Taylor has been let go over wages. He put in some impressive shifts last season, but I'd like too think that we could at least get the same quality and younger for less. Or a better player for the same money i.e a good defensive midfielder that is more consistent or can grab a few goals.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'd like to think so too, but who knows. For all this window shopping we're supposedly doing we better start actually buying soon.

So Joe C to Villa. Bit of a surprise. So he didn't go for the $ over here and stayed in the UK. Now we'll see if he does have the heart and legs left if he's used correctly.

Any thoughts on Winston Mr P. Can / should we afford 75k /week. Will he settle for less?

    ReplyDelete
  48. 75K for "Crazy Horse" is just beyond our means and if he's serious then he will have to look elsewhere for that kind of dosh. I've resigned myself to him going at some point anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I agree, but will be interesting to see how it plays out.

No thoughts on JC? Be a slap in the face for Alf if he comes here and puts one in next season

    ReplyDelete
  50. With regard to Joe Cole scoring against us, it won't be the first time Smitty. Good luck to him, but I can't see him being a value for money signing - he's probably still on serious wages.

    ReplyDelete
  51. He might've put the ball in the Pikeys Net ...but i cant see Reid getting that kind of Spondooleys over West Ham....Joe Cole wont be missed...after last seasons outings anyway

    ReplyDelete
  52. No, he's not a bargain, but I'd like to see if he's still got something. I think he has. Never gonna see it with BFS though.

Never say never, Slippery. There's some funny stuff been done over the years

    ReplyDelete
  53. I see we've kept young Danny Potts on, nothing to complain about there !

    ReplyDelete
  54. If we don't buy anyone Pottsy could be it next go round, Good luck to the lad, he's a tryer.

What a surprise, why tf would he come here?

    1. Looks good to me. To the point with a touch of super hero thrown in

      Delete
  56. Have no problem with that at all Slippery and I don't have a problem with the concept of changing the badge either. It's happened more than once, anyone thats interested can take a look at my Dylan Tombides R.I.P. and see some of the older badges. I would be happy to see the badge have "West Ham United" and "East London" on it.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Moving right along to 1st gig next go round
    West Ham v Spurs

BFS "entertainin football" You will see it first here ? - or not?

4 in a row with the same ol, or with snappy exiting sniping , fluid midfield and a solid back 4 with not an oof in sight ( unless we go 1 down)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Looks like we've just signed the defender Cheikou Kouyate, he's a big lad too so hopefully Tupper will be as pleased as David Sullivan appears to be.

First match Spuds Smitty ? Got all summer to polish the masher ! Come On You Irons !

    ReplyDelete
  59. Big Lad eh - Shocker there then.

So it would seem. Get yer tenner down quick while you're over there, plenny of dosh to be made on this one. Family sized bucket o'Smash to celebrate.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I thought he was midfield? In any case Teddy Boy probably won't get his hands on him.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Having had a poke about Filthy, I think you may be right, but he has played as a Centre Back,

    ReplyDelete
  62. Follow up on Kouyate, it does seem that he has played more games as a Centre Back than as a defensive midfielder. But maybe Alf's planning on pushing Noble forward a bit.
Hammerstats have some info if anyone interested - https://twitter.com/hammerstats or you can connevct via West Ham Till I Die.

    ReplyDelete
  63. AC snapped in Vegas - can't say the man isn't dedicated !

    ReplyDelete
  64. I thought you meant he lost it and nutted some poor soddin croupier. Getting in some practice before the real thing.
Hasn't got a beer in the pic so he must be taking it seriously

    ReplyDelete
  65. Thanks for Kouyate info. No bad thing if he can play both.

    ReplyDelete
  66. You already know therefore significantly when it comes to this topic, made me in my opinion believe it from numerous various angles. Its like men and women aren’t involved until it is one thing to do with Girl gaga! Your individual stuffs outstanding. Always take care of it up!

I got no problem with that, we've had worse

    ReplyDelete
  71. If that's the proposed knigthood of Clyde Best Smitty, neither do I - but if it's The Return of Roger The Relegator, I was hoping for better.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Clyde sure, but I kinda like Woger.
We could have worse for the price, long way from top flight but a decent back up.
Shall I put me tin hat on?
