  1. Tanned, rested and full of it.
Nice win to get us back looking over the Saints shoulder.
Lots of coulda shoulda in the reports and maybe a few more should have gone in but 2 in and 3 points on the board is fine.
Interesting quote from Alf "The quality of our squad in depth means I'm able to look at freshening up the team for Watford on Wednesday."
Funny how things change, a month or so ago it looked like we were gonna have to tog up the canteen ladies.
Odds on finishing the season as champs Mr P? Your prediction?

  2. Howdy Smitty, must confess my Dubai doubts were uncalled for, earballing the match on West Ham TV (where all you can do is listen ?) it seems like we might have had a handful of goals. Also seems like the squad fitness is coming together just in time for the final third. On paper we have the best squad in the Second Division, but to quote Jimmy Greaves "They don't play on paper, they play on grass !" As for predictions, it's not an effigy of me, everyone's going to be sticking pins in, if it all goes belly up ! Who doesn't want to be Champs ? But I'd settle for promotion in the number two spot right now.

  4. Ouch ! I was asking for the Shaky pun, I know. Once away from his card carrying comrades The Sunsets, Mr Stevens always aimed for the #1 spot I'm sure.

  5. Complete crap shooting, when we get back to the Premiership we aren't going to have that many chances

  6. Welcome back Don't Hurt 'Em, I only got to see the "highlights" earlier today (c/o West Ham TV) and I must say that the all the front line trigger men were well off the mark. If they're going to seek employment in the First Division they're going to have to start hitting the target sharpish ! As you say up there the chances are much slimmer. Is Nicky Maynard just a gnats wotsit from going on a spree, or should Little Sam Baldock be given a proper run out ?

  7. HDHT- I've often thought that, but never voiced it. I'm hoping when we're back in the center ring we'll step up like we did at Blackpool and show some real class. If we don't get someone to put em if not in, but at least at the net we're going to be doing this again the year
after. Or as an alternative realise that it's more fun in the sun. You get a few bob more, both for you and to spend on some top flight players to make life easier, but you have to stop bu***ring about -NOW.

  8. This was supposed to be easy for all of our strikers but we dont have anyone thats going to do anything next season. I cant see and of our guys getting 10 goals next season in the premiership

  9. Chiming in here folks, at this point in the proceedings i think Baldock and Maynard are unknowns with potential and Carlton Cole is, well Carlton Cole. I'm not convinced Vaz Te is Premiership material, Piquone and Carew certainly are not and although it pains me to pass judgement on home raised talent, Freddie Sears is not destined for the big time (please prove me wrong Freddie). It's not like we're not getting the chances, we're just not getting the goals - Wanted The Striker WIth No Name - Music cue Ennio !
