West Ham v Southampton

  1. " is that Saitchmo I see before me?" " What a wonderful..." ...second half. Yossi pulling a few strings but a very cold shoulder from Nolan to him after one of the goals, so it's probably not all sweetness and light.
Southampton are V. weak defensively so it was great to stick 4 past them.
    Hallelujah!!

  2. Saitchmo ! I like it Filthy. Didn't notice Nobby's cold shoulder to Yossi, so I hope that's not the case. I did however notice Yossi's contribution to the cause and I hope Alf sees him as Vaz Te's replacement. And on the subject of replacements Maiga certainly made a case for Mo' (OUCH) Playing Time with that scorcher of a goal ! Must have been a grand afternoon out for the punters !

  4. That's a lot of lines to read between Smitty, but I think I now what you mean. We only got one point off them last season and I'm hoping for more than three this one !

  5. Nolan putting the ball in the back of the net time and time again. How long has it been since Noble has missed a penalty for us, has he ever missed I can't remember?

  6. Happy to hear from you Don't Hurt 'Em and your question caused me to have to poke about a bit for the answer. According to Dave Evans of the East London Advertiser, Noble's peno against The Saints was his 13th consecutive score from the spot. 13 in a row ! How handsome is that ?

  7. A bit of a follow on from my above post. It would appear to me that Noble's overall penalty record for the First Team is 21 scored out of 23. Very tasty indeed !

  8. I also think that Yossi earned his starting spot setting up that tap in for nolan

  9. Not only did Yossi set up Nolan's tap in, but he hustled too Don't Hurt 'Em- tracking back and pushing forward. Lets hope he keeps putting in shifts like that

  10. I wonder what it is with my Benayoun. Everyone seems to rate him but not want him. Ditched by west ham, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Chelsea again and now Israel. I think he's a great player with excellent vision, hopefully he'll be welcome for that alone.

  11. Yossi was never ditched by us Filthy, he was offered a new contract, made a press statement about how happy he was to re-sign and how much he loved West Ham and then moved to Liverpool a couple of days later ! I have no idea about all the shuffling around away from Upton Park, but he's a big star back home and has had some miraculous recoveries and injuries that always seem to favour the Israeli International teams schedule. Perhaps he suffers from symptoms of Ego, Nationalism and Mercenary Attitude ? Still as far as I'm concerned "The Devil You Know..." applies here.

  12. I stand corrected...but it illustrates my feeling that he doesn't make friends easily.
