  1. So close, so close!!
    But..........
A draw against 50 gazillion billion quid league leaders ain't too shabby.
Getting a bit crowded next week or so, Man U replay, Gooners postponement plus regular nonsense.

Can we do it?, no problem. Will we do it........?

and last but deffo not least a big welcome back to Mr Cole, thank you very much for the thrills and welcome home.

  2. Welcome Home Joe Cole indeed Smitty! May it be shouted from the top of The Boleyn towers ! I must confess I had my doubts about Joe's return, but Saturday's match and especially Joe's shift has scattered those doubts to the wind. Not only did he make two cracking passes for Ginge to bury, but he was tracking back and having a go as well. I could not have asked more of him, it's like a bleedin' fairy tale innit !

  3. Yup he seemed to relish it. I think he was more relaxed than at liverpool and chelsea to some extent. Welcome home- now who sang that?

  4. Not sure I know a "Welcome Home" Filthy ? It's a shame that Gary Glitter is no longer acceptable, a cultural cold shoulder, which as far as I can tell, he deserves.

  5. I had to look it up: Peters and lee....The male of which is/was blind..which takes us in a circle back to the Whitechapel Rd and the Bast**rd in the black.
Yup, GG does deserve it. I'm not quite sure what I think of the current witch hunt on 1970's tV "personalities". Most of them were horrible, but it's an extra large can of worms they're breaking into.

  6. Peters & Lee - brought to our attention by Hughie Green on Opportunity Knocks if I remember correctly. Ten pop points for that one Filthy. Blind Lennie Peters always had the aura of a villain and I think he was pals with a couple of East London "entrepreneurs".

  7. hughie green! Got a lot to answer for....The local radio station here in the frozen North is amusing itself with the worst pop song(successful) of all time. I thought welcome home to be a contender until i heard "Ebony and Ivory" again...Anyway,, going off topic......How many times this season has it been 'Van Persie in the 91st/2nd/3rd minute? Man ure would be in it without him.

  8. HG /OK also donated Mary Hopkin to the cause as well. No flea market 45 box would be complete without the Bulgarian / Yugoslavian etc picture sleeve of Those Were The Daze. And that's a lot to answer for.

If we can keep the Joe Cole Iron roller going for another week or so
Van Persie or not, Man Ure (love it) will be in it.

  9. Not only "a lot to answer for" Filthy, but Bobby Crush in particular ! As for Van Persie, what can you say -the man is an assassin, perhaps I shall re-name him "The Jackal" ?

  10. Always thought there was something a bit iffy about the whole Mary Hopkin - Opportunity Knocks set up Smitty . One minute she's this unknown Welsh speaking folk singer and the next, The Beatles are writing her material ! As for Joe Cole, right now he's got me dreaming again !

  11. Nothing iffy about it- blonde, wholesome, young, looking for career opportunities, can say Ooh Baby in Welsh + Macca, charm, hormones, expensive etchings, influence.
    = Yugoslavian picture sleeves everywhere

    Simples.

  12. Paul McCartney trawling Hughie Green for "talent' (either kind) ? Nah, I'm sticking with my conspiracy theories, but we do digress Smitty. I've forgotten to mention young Chamakh, who we have on loan from The Gooners, lets see if he can "Rock The Casbah" up at Sunderland this weekend ?

  13. I'm not going to rise for that bait Filthy !
