West Ham United v. Manchester City

  1. Well, that was immensely satisfying.
We can play proper footie, and run and run and run.
Does Tenner Valencia ever run out of steam.
Dodged a bullet here and there, scrambled a few times but that's the way it works, and its excitin and ennertainin stuff.
MOTM - Everyone. I don't think anyone put in less than a full shift.
Honorable mention to Cresswell, for a sprout from the sticks he's gonna be a monster someday.

Just to keep things in perspective, Sam Out. Please believe your own press and go manage England, tomorrow.

  2. That's the most fun I've had that early in the morning (NYC time) in recent memory Smitty. Sincere apologies to the neighbours !! Tupper for England - kills 2 birds with 1 Stone, alright 2 birds with about 14 stone, or thereabouts !

  3. A truly magnificent 7 as well! I'm glad to see that Saitch is still the home of those wishing rid of BFS. He seems to be getting the love right now. If Russell Brand's idea of revolution is kissing Sam then I don't think he'll get many takers for the uprising. Having said that there has to be some credit to BFS for not screwing up a good thing.
You're right about Cresswell, And all of them!

  4. Smiity thirded re the whole team, but has Sakho "got the juice" or what Filthy ? 7 for 7 - magnificent indeed ! Thought it was appropriate that Russ was wearing what we used to refer to as "the girls scarf" and assume he bum rushed Alf's post match interview for some shameless self promotion, of which I do not object in the slightest.

  5. Oi Oi Saveloy.....yeehar..quality Saitch A.P.
i aint been that nervous at a West Ham game since...come to think of it since ever
we had 30% of the play and still beat a full strength premiership big gun
,ok so they hit the woodwork a couple of times..so what

Theres a Buzz in the air over the Boleyn ground at the minute & it feels lovely
When Sakho scored the 2nd goal it triggered a spontaneous outbreak of ..'Knees Up Mother Poznan' ..all over the shop.'.Gertchoo Cowson'...Loving it

  7. Lesson #1 - Never give up hope.

Lesson #2 - If the SF Giants can win 3 World Series in 5 years anything is possible!

Lesson #3 - Find out if Madison Bumgarner knows anything about UK Football and pay him millions to finish the season with the Hammers! It'll be a done deal pal! Nuff said. Over and out and from the USA.

Andy, I got my West Ham jersey last week. I suck at taking selfies so I'm waiting for someone else to take a proper photo. Hopefully this week. Cheers!

  8. Welcome aboard Clueless, now you've got a shirt there's no turning back ! Let's hope one day in the future when you tell folks The Hammers were in 4th when you got your first shirt - they say "Only 4th ???" And congratulations on another World Series, if Bumgarner goes to London he'd better have a sense of humour with a tag like that ! Way To Go Giants !!!

  10. Let's hope that they way the boys are playing we'll have some more famous victories to celebrate. Had a look at the link, you're right don't need the words. Agree with all the comments, the first time for years that our whole team has played like that, following o from AP's them you could say the magnificent eleven. Not so sure about finishing in the European places but we could be a good bet for the Cup. It will interesting how he integrates AC into the squad and what role he gets? Can't see BFS being able to justify dropping Sakho or Valencia. Initially an Impact sub instead of CC, but maybe 3 upfront for some home games.

  11. "3 Up Front" George ? What ever next ?? The incredible thing your making a serious suggestion and you know what ? Tupper might even do it ! Our future reality may well be yesterday's dream sequence - can't wait to see what happens next. But lets not forget it's likely to be physical up at Stoke on Saturday ! Come On You Irons !!!

  12. Yep, nice bit of footage/ memories there Slip. Enjoyed everything about it, even the cars looked like real cars then.
TFF Justify !? Nice thought George. I wouldn't bet against AC coming on as a sub for a couple of games while he's " getting up to match fitness " then straight in the starters if he scores 1 or 2 now we have some midfield and crossing FBs, bloody Nolan too. Tenner or Sackem on the bench and CC in the bin ( personally if we need a big man for some reason, CC fits better than AC) I'd swim the pond to do it but I fully expect the home boys too make sure he has to travel everywhere by Securicor if he does.

  13. Aston Villa can't buy a goal - maybe Paul Lambert would be interested in AC ? Even better a Nobby-AC twofer ??

  14. I can't see him going for 3 dedicated strikers, so I reckon AC will have to wait his turn. It could mean that Nolan is the odd man out if AC is played. That'd be a shame!

  15. AC may be "dedicated" Filthy but I'm not sure it's too football !

  16. Just had a gander Slippery after a couple of "technical difficulties" - top shelf stuff. The version I saw was out of sequence too - but it goes nicely to "Guns Of Navarone" although I'm sure if you had a dig about something might work better. Any idea who the player was who did a head over heels after we scored ? Anyone ?

  17. Not Ronnie Boyce was it A.P...?

Years ago (80's) i was sitting round me mates gaff one lazy sunday evening 'monging out' with a couple of 'Jolly D's' ... 'Sensi' in tow watching some old 1940's film about this young bird who was an ice skater..the sound was muted on the film & me mate was playin some tunes...he puts on a 12" version of A Forest by the Cure just as the ice skating girl started doing her stuff in the film on the telly...by a mad coincidence for a brief moment the 1940's & 1980-'s come together as the ice dance & music synchronised to perfection...mad

  18. Taking a dip into the Deep Joy that engulfs all things West Ham right now Slippery, I popped the question on KUMB. Turns out it was Budgie Byrne celebrating Ticker Boyce's winner ! As for the home soundtracks - I have a pal in West London who used to do some wicked Rasta man Spaghetti Western mash ups through the clouds in his front room !

  19. 2-1 to us at the half, Sacko doesn't play, Valencia x 2 We play tight passing footie, someone from Stoke gets red carded in the 2nd half and they park the bus. Nolan comes on with 15 mins to play and misses a shot but does bugger all else. 2-1 at the death.
Winston doesn't get his suspension yellow but comes close.
    You heard it here first.

    COYI !!

  20. I'll take that! I was thinking 1-1, and happy with it too. Trying to keep a lid on my enthusiasm I suppose.

  21. As long as we come away with a point I'll be well happy. Stoke has the lowest scoring ground in all 4 divisions, so 2 may be a tall order. But I can't see us not scoring and hopefully we won't come out of it too banged up !
