Tottenham Hotspur v. West Ham United

  1. Yep, nowt new really, but we were in it for about 10 minutes.
Didn't see the Toffees as I was out in the world cut off from civilization, so this was a large thud as I came back to reality.
Spuds looked very tidy and if they keep it up should be contenders- sticks in my throat to say it though. It was a pretty ramshackle performance but it was individual howlers that killed us, as we all knew it would.
We did learn again something we all knew and now know again- Tarzan ain't it. Not that he did anything particularly wrong , he just didn't do anything particular. He's too slow for the way we want to play now and I was surprised to see that when we had corners so he could do his supposed forte we took short ones. I'm not a fan of those at the best of times. It's been asked elsewhere but I wonder if SS is under pressure to either try and make it work or put him in the window for January. Please let him be gone it's too expensive for 15 mins at the end of some games & Swansea.
Generally lackluster but a few stand outs, Wile E and Linguini just never quit, Sackem played 110% as usual totally out on his todd in the wilds.
I still think we'll do well this season though and even if we do end up mid tale again it's still 500% more fun to watch.
Song could really help if he's in the mood now he's almost ready, and we still have Ogbonna & Obiang in the wings, or more to the point are we ever going to see Antonio on a wing to see what he can do?
Be interesting to see what SS does this w/end to break down the WBA wall.

  2. Well you've made up for any absence with observations galore there Smitty. Let me digest all of that - in the meantime I thought Tarzan did better than I expected , but "aint it" hits that particular Hammer right on the head, although we want the ball to hit him on the head instead !

  3. Can't really complain the best team won. We got spoiled with having Payet, but we are going to have to adjust, lets hope Song can spice things up!

  4. Well we need Stewy or Jarvis to be floating em over to Tarzan's bonce, but they ain't here no more. Cressers and Jenks seem to to be too busy for that sorta nonsense nowadays so that ain't happening either. Have we got a bona fide kosher winger in the squad now, I don't think so. If he just sits down by the post till we get a corner, or walks down when they do I think we've found his place. Maybe stands in front of their keeper once or twice when he's punting it. So that's about 200k a nod / block by the end of the season, money well spent.

  5. True, it seems like a majority of the crossing is being done by Jenko or Cresswell who both can be very sketchy. Once again I think the problem with AC is that we should not be changing our play style for him, we need to learn to incorporate him into a different style of play that isn't totally reliant on him. Also what was up with Noble losing it?

  6. Ahoy There Don't Hurt 'Em - Noble really was mixing up, which is not kosher for a Captain - I was waiting for him to get sent off. As you say Song being back could be a real plus especially with Payet out, I only hope he can stay focused - when he's on it he's top shelf but when he's not AAArrrgggghhhhh !!!!!

And I'm with Smitty on the "Where's Valencia" front ? Lets get him on the Park !

  7. That's a lovely photo in the Saitch Mr P. And not a drop spilt! I suppose the Spuds were due a victory and they're a sharp outfit at the moment. Yeah, Noble was up for it, good to gee up the troops, but 11 men good, 10 men bad!

  8. Sadly not 11 men good enough for Spuds Filthy, some defensive errors cost us but a couple of decent saves and a somewhat surprising miss from Kane means we'd used up all our "Get out of Jail Free" cards. When the third went in I was expecting worse. A clean sheet to steady the ship is what I'll be looking for next.

  9. Lest we forget, mentioned in dispatches for not quitting in the first degree, Mr Lanzini.
Just to prove that even when we get suckier every minute and the wheels have come off
    there is still heart somewhere.

  10. Lanzini well with a shout out Smitty, his goal for me was the difference between embarrassment and humiliation. Mrs Pepper also a fan " west ham are getting quite good looking these days" her observation of this season thus far!

  11. I'm not sure how that works Filthy - we operate a strictly Don't Ask Don't Tell policy when it comes to West Ham "players" !
