Well we got the points, a very nice opener for Pottsy Jr, and a goal every 6 years for Papa must make a nice change,BUT it coulda got away from us. Up in the first doesn't mean nap time in the 2nd. Love the win and nice to be at the top, and I know we're weak in depth, but now's the time to show THE IRON!! We can do it!!
No arguments with you there Smitty, a very tidy assessment indeed. I only earballed via Radio London, but 17 year old Danny Potts did his old man proud - Irons in the blood or what ? Sounded like we were done out of two penaltys - the first against Freddie Pickles being more of a cert, than the second, which got Alf Tupper sent to the Grandstand ( a bit of passion n a manager is for me a good sign). With an ever thinning squad, we are holding our spot !
well my score prediction was wrong, but I got the result right, as did the team. Important to "stop the rot" and "get back on a winning track". Makes for a relaxed Christmas, and onwards into the new year.
If we'd got the two peno's (I'd fancy Noble to bury them both) and Green hadn't made a top shelf save early in the second half, you might have been right Filthy. But I'm happy to settle for the three points with the Potts boy debut as the bonus.
Merry Xmas to one and all, sorry I didn't get back on the day but I was up to my neck in other peoples wrapping paper, turkey and plonk. Looking forward to the Brum match, COME ON YOU IRONS !

ReplyDeleteI say start Potts next game but Sam is no moron and I trust whatever battle strategy he has drawn up
ReplyDeleteIn Alf Tupper we trust, no reason not to as far as I can see. Lets hope it stays that way !
