Woo Hoo!! Didn't look too god at half time, but what a turn around. Completely outpowered chelsea , kicked them when they were down. That one's worth a lot!
"worth a lot" Filthy ?? Absolutely priceless I would say - Chelsea are Champions of Europe and we beat 'em proper. As is well reported elsewhere, they were all over us in the first half, but it aint over until the Fat Lady sings and when she did, she sung "Bubbles" !!!
You called it Smitty, so you Rah Rah away as much as you like . "Unto Cesar what is Cesar's" and Smitty's due a percentage too ! Any idea what odds William Hill would have given at half time on a Hammers' 3 -1 win ?
Nice to be justified, no slackers and some giant killing was about due, and well deserved. Odds?!, they'd be laughing so much you could make up your own, and for a tenner you could be thinking about retirement now. Liverpool up next, easy!! Shame AC couldn't rub it in a bit more , but probably better he doesn't, the price might go up somehow.
Yes Smitty the Scousers at ours on Sunday and they'll be without Suarez, as he's just reached 5 yellow cards (a la Noble for Man U). There's absolutely no reason to fear them at all and if everyone's in good nick Alf might well start with the same second half eleven that buried Chelski. As for AC, I think the very same Scousers get to call the shots on his treatment as he is still there's , but from what I've read he's out until after the January Sales are over. If Carlton can keep his current form and not get banged up we should be alright.
At the moment I don't think we have any reason to be scared of anybody. We may not win em all but we've generally gone down swinging (notable exceptions noted). This could be a huge shot in the arm, confidence is sometimes a tangible thing that can do wonders. We held City to a draw, United to one goal and now this. If the boys up front can stay healthy we can punch way above our weight with a decent shot. And that is WAY WAY more than I expected this year. IROOOOOOOOOONS!!
Welcome Cranberry and Blue, I take it that's your beverage of choice too ? Who'd have thought early in the season when everything was groovey joe poovey down the Kings Road, that Chelski would surrender a half time lead and 3 points on Green Street ! Alf Tupper - Moses from The North - I can see the photo now a la Isaac Hayes
I'm sure despite my rah-ness we'll trip over our own big feet at some point so that will deflate any heads but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be stiltin' right now. The Scousers won't be a gizit, but a good win there, which shouldn't be a non starter, will give the lads another boost. We'll see what the brains at Bill Hill think come Saturday.
Cran The Man, or is it Cran The Woman (no ring to it) ? - Alf Tupper is my nick name for our manager Sam Allardyce .Alf "The Tough Of The Track" Tupper was a working class distance runner and welder, from English Boys' comics. He sometimes trained in deep sea divers' boots and ate nothing but Fish 'N' Chips. I last featured his face on the Crewe (August 28th) post - if you click on August in 2012 (up a bit on the right) Super Alf should appear.
Filthy I just had a go at Google-ing "Match Of The Day" and found this under stream - http://www.thefirstrow.eu/watch/155074/1/watch-bbc-match-of-the-day.html. Anyway, it worked for me straight out the traps - give it a spin mate. I'll still put the word out about the possible Netflix Connection.
Thank you! I'll give it a go. It' s a different world to watching Grandstand on a Saturday afternoon and you really don't know what's going on until 10 minutes after the final whistle. I still think that MOTD is the bible for the premier league
I've grown accustomed to being huddled around a laptop watching some stop start stream from a place I've never heard of, with a commentary I am convinced is in a made up a language (some soccer hackers prank ). Still it beats watching "livescores" a few years back, when all i did was stare at a computer screen full of scorelines waiting for them to change every 2 minutes ! Now if I can't find a stream I put on Talksport Radio, which thus far has not let me down.

Does anyone watch Match of the Day on the computer? for free, or very cheap? Someone told me you could watch through Netflix in the US. Is this true?
ReplyDeleteHaha, I understand maybe a twelfth of what is written here.
ReplyDeleteAnd you can watch anything on the internet. Here's a hedgehog...
