Liverpool v. West Ham

  1. Apologies to all for the late arrival of the Liverpool Saitch. I'm in foreign parts and have been well busy, so much so that it's taken me a while to get this one together. It's likely that we now have something of an expanding community and if that's the case I'd like to extend a "cool to see yer" to one and all.

  2. Visited the exhibition at Eb&Flow this week. Loved it! (Liked the flag outside too).

  3. Love the collages, they are spot on. Looking forward to the S'pton edition. I lived in NJ/NY for nearly 10 years now I'm in South Florida, hopefully your work will make Art Basel one of these years.COYI.

  4. Just back on the Upper West (Ham) Side, so I was on the move for the Saints match. I did however spot a squad of Irons fans having a plot up at Waterloo Station. Welcome to Saitch Marcus and Glenn, and thank you for the kind words. Nipped down to Green Street and got the flag, also got the pole from Upton Park Builders Merchants (shameless plug ? - Absolutely !), so a shout out to Omar, Jay and Eddie who are "getting it done" in E13. I have yet to learn about the whole Art Basel/Art Fair scene Glenn, but I'm under the impression Eb & Flow do put themselves about.

  5. Welcome back, Mr P.
    Re: The Match.
    AC starting to pay off?
1 point in 50 yrs, not bad. Next year we'll nick it!

  6. Wotcha Smitty, it's cool to be back. I'll save my specifics on The Saints match for the Saitch, but yes looks like AC is hitting his stride as you suggested.

  7. I was looking for the Bovril....seems like the team's settled into a confident and efficient groove laying the foundations to "kick on" next season. However can't count no chickens on Green st!

  8. A lot of the results have gone our way this weekend Filthy, it would really have to go "arse upwards" for us to be #3 in the drop. I'm thinking QPR and Reading are done for. As for kicking on, the West Ham Till I Die site, there's talk of Alf Tupper getting the c'mon for Villa (he wouldn't even have to splash out on new ties !).

  10. Hiya mate, visited Hoxton today. Excellent stuff, loved the Coventry 1 WHU 2 collage and haggled with the Mrs over if the Blagg purse-strings would stretch to a purchase but, sadly (at the moment anyway) they won't. I posted on the ESPN FC blog and tried to give the collection a bit of a plug. According to the bloke in the Eb & Flow, 'attendance has been very good' so, hopefully, it paid off for you. Looking forward to the next collection. Take care.

  12. Yup, both the blue and white boys are gone(will "arry stay?) #3 will be interesting but won't be the Hammers. Alf for Villa? I reckon that'd be flat for both parties(he'd keep the same nylon socks and smalls as well!). I have been thinking that it might be time to have someone else in charge for the "kick on" next season. A bit more flair...a bit more...je ne sais quoi: yes, probably someone from across the channel. But who?

  13. Someone else at the helm Filthy ? I just can't see it for a year or two. I think all the Upstairs focus is going to be on business, business, business - top o' the list - a new 3rd party investor to replace the Icelandic Bank. If Alf can take care of the League position, The Davides (bit more Westfield Stratford City Champagne Bar than the The Davids) and The Irons Lady can keep their "mind on their money and their money on their mind". To be fair, it's their own hard on earned money and they have every right to look after it.

  14. Agreed, we don't want flair - well, we do but it's one of the odd myths about West Ham that we've had in it in spades and quite recently too. The Di Canio team under 'Arry was the last time we played old-style attack and sod defence football. We need to ensure we stay in the PL for a few years and build from here. In any case, Cole and Jarvis seem to be exactly the type of players that BFS SHOULDN'T be interested in but we've signed them this season so I simply don't buy into the theory that FS can only play one way. He knows how to get a result and that is crucial when you're a mid-table side as it's the difference between being comfortable and scrabbling in the relegation area. The only way we will 'kick on' is to not have ideas above our station.

  15. I think that myth may only circulate amongst ourselves Billy B, to most we are known as a team that has a strong Academy and gets relegated regularly. Not sure we signed Joe Cole as much as he made us an offer we can't refuse (cue Jimmy Helms) and as for Alfie T, he seems to let us off the leash at home and keep it tight away. For starters I'd like to see some better keeping of the ball and more accurate passing, surely that doesn't have to be risky ? Then more time on the ball for both Jarvis and Joe Cole, not too much to ask for, surely ?
