Manchester Utd v. West Ham Utd

  1. Red? don't you mean redS. The Fellatio stomp and the Palloesque Forearm smash, both should have been instant off.

I'll take the point, but if someone wasn't moving the goalposts we'd have had all 3.
Tarzan was a bit better, but I'd still get rid. Zorro and Moses
did alright and when we get some of the speed and unpredictability back, Tenner & Linguini, we should be alright.
Even better with Payet & Sacko but that's gonna be a while.
Song looked good but rusty, & Wile E was pretty tasty on spots.
    All midfield do well.
Boys at the back were all pretty solid, but of course honorable mention to Crazy Horse, man's a beast sometimes. I'm surprised he wasn't straight up to nut that guy, he's a better man than I.

All in all I'm loving this season, unless we play Accrington then we'd prolly go down 2 or 3 -0 which would be annoying.

  2. A lot of ground covered there in one comment Smitty - most Noble ! The boys at the back were the obvious stand outs and well glad Crazy Horse managed to keep it under wraps and not get nicked himself. I was thinking "REDS" might be pushing it, but according to you not so !

  3. The league could give a 3 match ban after the fact because the referee didn't see the incident. Which doesn't help us at all. However in another game played this weekend the league was powerless because the referee on the pitch saw the incident and decided against disciplinary action. Are the British incapable of making mistakes? Is that why it's called GREAT Britain? Glad to have Song back though. And we need to convince Adrian to grant power of attorney to the Davids.

  4. Nice to see back on Saitch C&B - if it's down to the ref we're bound to get shafted. Even if the ref isn't an issue, then there's the Old Trafford Rule as in certain rules don't apply to Man Utd at home. Maybe now Charlie Endell (Ferguson to you) has retired that doesn't apply every match. If Schweinsteiger is banned why can't it be 2 games now and the next one against us from whatever time the offense occurred ? Won't happen i know, but as you rightly point out, all this punishment after the fact does nothing from the aggrieved team.

  5. I think the British are incapable of admitting they make mistakes.....Reffing seems pretty much of a lottery these days (and a lottery you never win!)
One point will do-Shame couldn't pick a pocket or two, and I wanted 3 but it was, at least a more solid performance. Tarzan still ain't the way to play, but signs of Song being on again are good!

  6. In fairness was there ever a time when the refs weren't a problem ? Some of my earliest football memories are of the referee being cursed at ? Looks like we're stuck with Tarzan and/or Jelly at least until the January window and I hear Lanzini's now out. I reckon that makes about half a team banjoed !

  7. According to BBC Sport we can add Crazy Horse and Big Vic to the banjoed list, better dubbin up yer Boots Smitty !

  8. I don't have the insurance plan they do, and I'm sure Ginge would be pissed if I took his place. I think Tomkins should stay on the right and Ginge relace Crazy Horse. Antonio in for Vic. We'll miss Lanzo though. Not sure who goes there. Tis true though, anyone of us could get the call at any time the way things are going. So that's 3 pts nailed on fer sure.

  9. That may well be 3 points with you on the Park Smitty, but if things go from bad to worse and I'm put on we may have to settle for the draw ! Seems Super Slav has had it with Chadwell Heath training set up and we move to Rush Green on Monday. There something quite appropriate about The hammers training on a building site !

    ReplyDelete
  10. Yeah, I saw they were moving training grounds to avoid more injuries. What was the problem at Chadwell heath? And will a building site be better? It is a problem tough. and they all seem to be out for that 4 to 6 week period of time.

  11. Well Filthy, I guess they'll all be off to their respective homelands for an extra-large Xmas then ! Actually have no idea what shape Rush Green is in, but we weren't scheduled to go there until next season. As for Chadwell Heath, I think there was some concern under Curbishley whether it might be contributing to injuries, but it all went schtum.

  12. STOP PRESS - Schweinsteiger takes a 3 match ban - he didn't appeal !

    ReplyDelete
  13. Justice...I saw Bilic says Chadwell heath fields are " rock hard underneath and slippery on top" doesn't sound good.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Well Rush Green aint that far from Chadwell Heath Filthy, so I hope the Hammers Geoligist has cased the gaff ! As for Schweinsteiger - hardly justice for us - we should of had 50+ minutes of football against ten men ! Still bald he got nicked !!

  15. Are you telling me a team that has been around for 120 years still hasn't found a decent practice field. That's been the problem this whole time.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Hold your horses Cranberry ! I for one have no idea if West Ham were practicing at Chadwell Heath before the 1960's ? Although there is a color photo of Phil Woosnam at Chadwell Heath which might be late 50's (never changed his haircut Phil, so it's hard to tell ? Anyway it might only be 55 years !

  17. If they're going pitch hunting I found a few.
I hope the training ground is part of the problem. The past few seasons one of my major criticisms is they play like weekend warriors. Guy Demel looked like he spent the week in a cubicle watching funny cat videos then Saturday morning grabs his bag and heads to Upton Park for a kick with the mates.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Well Guy Demel is now in Dundee, Scotland C&B so he'll have to run about a fair bit during the week to keep warm. Hopefully the Super Slav sees that this squad, or at least whats left of it, do whats expected at training. According to Google maps Rush Green is 2.5 miles from Chadwell Heath and from the little I can recall about both spots, they're both small suburbs - so 3 miles apart max. Not more of the same I hope !

  19. You would hope that if it is a premier league club new training ground they'll have genetically engineered the playing surfaces to be what they want. I'm also hoping that the grass is ready and it's only the gold plate on the jacuzzi taps the need completing, rather than they'll be running around on a pile of rubble or something.
Mr P, I know you've been to the "new home"/Olympic stadium. What's your opinion on the "build quality" potential atmosphere, chance of making it a home?

    ReplyDelete
  20. I don't think they'll be training on rubble either Filthy, I just couldn't resist conjuring up the image.
"Been to" is a bit of a stretch as far as me and The Olympic goes. I've seen both from a distance - the top window of the new Westfield's John Lewis and close up from a prefab cafe near Docklands Light Railway. Remember it's only a rental - so I don't think they'll be much of a trace of us when we don't play. I'm thinking match day is going to be comparable to The Emirates and that varies according to who you talk to. As far as going to and from it couldn't be more convenient. Something's lost and somethings gained, as you know I'm in favor of the move - I have no interest in West Ham being left behind as a football club.

  21. The Olympic situation feels similar to the New York Giants games I go to fairly often. Since they share the stadium with the Jets everything is a neutral gray. (or grey) Hopefully they can do something with lights like at the Allianz. I just hope the boleyn faithful don't get priced out.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I don't think the Boleyn Faithful will be any more priced out than they already have been C&B, or would be likely to if we stayed on Green Street. Sadly going to West Ham is not the relatively cheap entertainment it was years ago. If anything there might be some cheap seats going as we have to ramp up the crowd by a good 15,000 punters per match.

  23. Just dad a chance to read this.
3 match ban isn't ideal as you say, but it's something.
Manure and the to 4-5 are usually bulletproof when it comes to this sort of thing.

Haven't they been waffling about Chadwell for quite a while now?
So about time . Maybe something to it, maybe not. Time will tell.

  24. It's a different game and a different world since we were nippers, and finding glamour and romance in those piss soaked lumps of concrete that made up football grounds (the word stadium wasn't used much then). I prefer a bit of comfort now and appreciate that it is a business and an entertainment now more than being larger than life or death.
I'm just concerned that somewhere like the Emirates had more money spent on it, and was purpose built ( to milk the public), but, not having been to the Olympic gaffe, was it built to last? will the view be good? will there be any atmosphere as it is too big?
You gotta have atmosphere. Sounds like I'm moaning before it has been tested, I'm not, I just really want it to be great, and it is such a sweet deal. Guess I'll just have to make a trip to find out for myself.

    ReplyDelete
  25. At the end of the day Filthy "atmosphere" is created by those that attend and it's too early to say who that will be. will they match the pissed up roaring crowds of our youth - I doubt - everyone's too busy playing with their phone to get stuck in for long. One thing is for certain at the "bigger" matches there are going to be more away fans that we are used to - so we are going to have to sing up.

    ReplyDelete
  26. The OS WILL be good. The atmosphere for the Olympics - admittedly bigger grounds and different events - was the best I've ever experienced anywhere (I was there every day as I had work there). The roof has been changed to retain that atmosphere with a football crowd. Plus we get to leave the Boleyn curse behind.... I hope!

    ReplyDelete
  27. By the way, the club have done fantastically well in their handling of the seat sale. I was told that for every three season tickets being renewed one new one is being sold. At this rate it may not even be big enough!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Ahoy there Billy, apologies for being slack and not keeping an eye on the comments on this post. I have another pal who was knocked out by the Olympics atmosphere twice - so I am very hopeful and as everyone knows 100% in favor of the move. Still it's down to the punters to provide the atmosphere it doesn't come "free" with the ticket, same as it does any other kind of event. You get to watch the football, but you actually get to be the crowd ! So don't moan - SING !!!
