Managed to get this off before heading to London for the funeral of my old comrade and London Scottish Hammer, the poet Jock Scot. He got a nice obituary on The Daily Telegraph (online) if anyone's interested. Only over for 3 days and there's no games on, so no West Ham while I'm over,
A swifty goody Mr P. Sorry you're over for a not great reason, but have a pie & a fried slice for me. I had issues so didn't get to watch the game. All I can say. 2 pens!! That's 3 in 2 games. Payback? Nah, we'd never get one against Citeh or Chel$ki. Good to see us in the 3pts column again, been a while, despite being against what seemed an underachieving Watford. You're right, we're still in with a chance for Europe whooda thunk it
looks like there's been a commercial invasion. Hornets had no sting and the hammers squashed 'em. Sorry to hear of Jock, Mr P. A one off and a wonder to behold in full flight.
How two lose a few pounds(weight wise), get more (money wise) and your personal survival - I think they must think that Alf is still managing The Hammers Filthy. This being my fifth and final season of Saitch, I've discovered the Comments Delete button (still can't find the Edit one) so I'll be back in a jiffy once I've cleared the decks a bit.
Noble was in full "Day of The Jackal" mode from the spot Smitty and Lanzini should have had a couple. In fact we could have had a couple a bucket load, but 3-1 will do. Both of the teams in Red have since won, so it's going to be a battle royal for that Europa League spot. Does anyone know if Man U or The Scousers win a trophy and come in 5th, if the 6th spot comes in to play ?
I think it might, and if the Kloppites were to win it this year then it should, in my book at least. FA cup winners get a spot so if it's Man u then there should be an extra place. I reckon 6th should be good and maybe 7th. (But 5th is even better!)
Had a poke about on KUMB Filthy and they reckon that if the Reds do well elsewhere 7th may well be a Europa League play-off spot. I'm thinking 4 wins and we're in, and we might even be in with less than that ! Would be a lovely finish at The Boleyn !
Was on the Victoria Line Monday night headed "south of the water" (Palace Country) when the tube became sprinkled with gloomy looking Spuds fans. My fellow traveller (London Red) and I just kicked back and enjoyed the view ! While I was over I did manage a feed and 2 cuppas at Kens. Back in the Apple
It will be interesting to see how much Daniel Levy is willing to fork out, now that Spuds have a champions League spot on their hands. I expect the Premiership big boys to be restocking this summer and they may find a shot at the title harder next season. Still as long as we make Europa I couldn't give a toss - Champions League ready we are not Filthy !
Albion tomorrow and considering they held a then still title seeking Spuds on Monday at White Hart Lane, we will need to be in fine form to beat them up there. We've got the goods, lets use 'em COME ON YOU IRONS.
The Throstles(!) can be a nasty bunch. AC and Jacob could have a go at each other, but I would suggest staying away from scraps and hit them hard and fast on the break.
nice little film on the Guardian football site about "The Move" mainly from local traders and older fans point of view, so largely negative as it'll hurt their earnings and what they've been used to for 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 years...The emotion has to be building up! It's a big topic......
Saw that Filthy, as I'm sure you're ware there's all sorts of tributes on YouTube. On a certain level it will be over by Wednesday morning, sl lets make the last week a 6 pointer COME ON YOU IRONS !!!!

ReplyDeleteI think the spuds did "believe"for a while - bless them! (Ha, ha!)

ReplyDeleteWhat exactly is a Throstle Filthy ? Is it that bird (winged) on their badge ? I'm off to find out - grab me deer stalker and cue "Devils Gallop"...
ReplyDeleteIt's a Song Thrush, latin name TURDUS PHILOMELAS of the TURDIDAE family !
ReplyDeleteNo doubt you will draw the same conclusions as me !!
I didn't know the latin name, I think these ones are a particularly localized variety: "Turdus Pulis"
ReplyDeleteShall we just say Turd for short Filthy ?
ReplyDeleteshort and to the point!
