West Ham v Manchester City

  1. Just think, Irons 1 - Citeh 0 - coulda shoulda been!!
All because of a bat in black.
Chuffed at our guys, put up a great show.
I was really worried once we got back up, we'd get it kicked and be back down again. So far with a little luck, some new blood and some quality grit they seem to be doing us proud.

  2. Robbed! It was a great finish too! But the draw is fine. Very good for confidence. 'Yossi watch" was impressed with his work rate and apart from a couple of misplaced passes thought he was a big factor in an impressive performance.

  3. I would have given man of the match to Ginge, he really put in a shift throwing his body in front of shots

  4. Draw is fine, Filth!! Can't be assed to look but
I'm sure you could've 20-1 on us walking away with a point. Outstanding!
Man of the match to all of 'em, HDHE.

  5. Look at this 3 comments before I can even reply ! Can't complain about a point off the Champions, even if it "coulda shoulda" been all 3 ! I'm not going to disagree with Smitty or Filthy, but I will say to Don't Hurt 'Em that Yossi, Noble and "Crazy Horse" Reid were also M.O.T.M. contenders for my money.

  6. Smitty slipped another one in while I was sending mine, something the Hammers should take note of.

  7. You're right Smitty-"fine" is an understatement. I would have been ecstatic with that result going in, just that it could have been a win if the flag had stayed down! Newcastle on Sunday? Well again odds are against but you never know. Carroll to score "at home"?

  8. Yeah, Filthy, coulda & shoulda. But much as it's against my very nature to think positive, we can hold our heads up after this and give anyone a fair whack (loosely speaking. We should keep the yellows down a bit) Newcastle, Smoocastle, a mere bagatelle.
Put the 3 points up now, save time later. AC, playing in front of the boys, pumped to the gills, no prob.

  9. I like the confidence Smitty, but experience tells me that the Geordies at home are no pushover. Still they have to nip over to Bruges Thursday, so lets hope they're bit on the tired side. As for AC, I hope he's not prone to Tevez Hammers Syndrome - a lack of desire to score against supporters that adore you ? It's down to Alf and Nobby to suss that one out.

  10. Tis true indeed they're no stroll in the park, but
we put up a good show against the Gooners, nearly had City so I feel the rising tide will carry us through. AC, maybe so, but I hope the urge to
put some in the net will overcome that.
I'm sure in the course of 2012 Hammerdom they'll drop an almighty clanger ( or learn to beat Wigan)
    but for now ...........

  11. Two questions:

    1. Does The Guardian get the game details down right?

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/nov/03/premier-league-manchester-city-west-ham-live

    2. How often do EPL's zebras blow an offsides call?

    Thanks from Brooklyn!

  12. Howdy Club Penguins, generally speaking I find that The Guardian likes to have a dig at us when they can and are pretty stingy with their praise (for us). But I will take a look at the Citeh report and review the review ! As for "offsides" where did the "s" come from ? It's not just you, it's an American addition to the vocabulary and I can't see the point. If you mean call them wrong, I'd say fairly regularly, if you mean call them in general - the answer is lots ! Anyone else want to chime in ?

  13. Just read The Guardian report Club Penguins and it's fair enough, but I can't help feel that a good goal ruled off side by another team, would have received more prominence. It seems that any praise won from them (TG) has been well earned.

  14. Well, I'm a 'guardian" user. I reckon It's not perfect but about as good as it gets. Mr P is right that teams not in the top 5 don't get drooled over as much- but that's common to all media mongrels.
Offside? How many in a game? Could be anything from 2 to 10. Some defences play for that call and some strikers ain't that sharp. Getting them wrong? 15% of the time would be my guess

  15. Has there been any word lately whether Liverpool want AC back during the transfer window or has that been forgotten?

  16. Oi! Where's Tomka?

    AND

How'd you get a picture of me for your newest post?

    ReplyDelete
  17. haven't heard recently but I reckon they'll want him back, every report talks about how short they are on strikers. Maybe they'll buy someone more to their liking?
    Great hair CBTG!

  18. I don't know Filthy, it's seems to be all talk of Suarez up at Anfield, he even got a full page write up in the NYTimes ! If Ann Summers has a good Xmas season, maybe David & David will splash out in the January Sales. That is if AC is up for it. If we wait until Summer, Spuds may well try to knick him off us. The Gooners won't pay for him and who knows about Chelski ? Or could he be part of a Scouse-Geordie Summer swap involving Demba Ba ? That would be a bit "choice" for us Hammers fans, but probably amuse the hell out of everybody else !

  19. CBTG, it is Saitch policy not to divulge the source of their content - based on journalistic integrity and all that . As for your missing man James Tomkins, sidelined with a groin strain and not for the first time !

  20. A groin strain? I'm shattered. No...I am FURIOUS!
